Canada Day 2023

Thank you for a great Canada Day celebration!

We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who made our Canada Day Parade and park events at Bible Hill Recreation Park a success! We had an incredible day filled with community spirit and fun. Here’s a heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed:

We extend appreciation to Canadian Heritage / Government of Canada for their financial support.

We would like to thank all the parade participants who brought joy and creativity to our streets. Your floats and enthusiastic participation added a special touch to the festivities. And to all the spectators who lined the parade route, thank you for joining us!

Our gratitude extends to Gordon Tucker, our M.C., for keeping us entertained and on track throughout the day. We were also thrilled to have StoneHouse perform, amping up the excitement and enjoyment of the day. They rocked!

We want to acknowledge the attractions that provided endless fun for our park-goers. Thank you to Glow The Event Store for inflatables, Foam Fiesta, HaliMac Axe Throwing, Shelby Ranch, and Five Little Monkeys Entertainment for creating memorable experiences and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

A special mention goes to Bible Hill Fire Brigade and Valley-Kemptown & District Fire Brigade for providing traffic control and ensuring the safety of our parade and spectators. We would also like to thank the Colchester District Royal Canadian Mounted Police for their dedicated escort of the parade.

Our thanks also goes out to the local businesses and organizations that helped feed us. Thank you, Bible Hill Fire Brigade, Scotia Pool, Sticks and Stone Woodfired Pizza and Catering, and 902 Proud Ice Cream Cakes for providing delicious food and refreshing beverages.

To the elected officials from Municipality of Colchester, Millbrook First Nation, Town of Truro, our MLA, Dave Ritcey, and our MP, Dr. Stephen Ellis, we appreciate your presence and participation. Thank you for joining us and celebrating with our community.

A special thank you goes out to our office and maintenance staff for their planning and execution. Their efforts behind the scenes ensured a smooth and memorable experience to make this day special.

Lastly, a special thank you to our hardworking Parks and Recreation Director, Haley Smith. Your dedication and leadership are instrumental in making this event a tremendous success. We are grateful for your tireless efforts.

Once again, thank you to everyone who played a part in making this Canada Day celebration a memorable experience. If you joined us, thank you too! Your support and enthusiasm have left us with another year of memories. We hope you all have a wonderful Canada Day long weekend, filled with joy and togetherness.

Happy Canada Day!
