In the evening hours of April 18th, 2020, evil enveloped the small hamlet of Portapique in Nova Scotia. A vile criminal began a murderous campaign that would spread into the following day across Northern Nova Scotia, taking the lives of 22 innocent people, and one unborn child. For those of us in Colchester and Cumberland counties, these victims are our neighbors, colleagues, and – in many cases – our family as well.

My heartfelt sympathies are with the countless Nova Scotians who today are paying their respects to a loved one lost on that sad day three years ago.
